Boating Safety and Water Rescue Training - May 9, 2015

Obtain your power pleasure craft operator's license. Also learn skills such as: motor basics, danger zones during competition, overturn craft procedures, boating operator procedures, boat check list, boat positioning, boat approaching to overturned craft, boat shut down and storage.

Saturday May 9th, 2015
Welland International Flatwater Centre (North Course)
16 Townline Tunnel Road, Welland ON, L3B 3X4

08:30 - 09:00          Introduction

9:00-1:00 p.m. Boating course  - Power pleasure Craft Operators License, this is equal to the need for SVOP
                                                                     (Small Vessel Operation Proficiency)
- Motor basics
- Danger Zones during competition
- Overturn craft (K1,K2,K4, C1,C2,C4 and C15, plus racing Shells) procedures

9:00 - 1:00 p.m.      On-Water Boat operating procedures for people who already have their license.

Boat Check List
(2-3) people per boat. Boat Starting
30-60 min each set Boat Operation
Boat Positioning
Boat approaching to overturned craft
Boat shut down and storage
1:00 - 2:00               Lunch Break

2:00 - 4:00       On-Water Boat operating procedures,
