New Code of Safety - Effective Immediately

The Sprint Racing Council (SRC) of Canoe Kayak Canada (CKC) has approved a revised Sprint Code of Safety which has come into immediate effect. The key changes to the Sprint Code of Safety include: 
  1. The requirement at all Inter-Divisional regattas under CKCs jurisdiction that U15, U13 and U11 (Including Trials and National Championships) athletes wear Government of Canada approved PFDs. 
  2. The requirement that all Officials, Coaches and Volunteers wear Government of Canada approved PFDs while on the water. 
  3. The direction that Clubs must be compliant with relevant worker safety regulations related to water safety and drowning prevention in their Province or Territory, and ensure that their staff are compliant where applicable.
